High-level trade talks between the US and China to resume today
Wall Street index futures went on a rollercoaster overnight, following conflicting reports surrounding the scheduled trade talks between high-level officials from China and the US. A report in China suggested that the lower-level talks yesterday hit a standstill, causing futures to tumble. However, later reports from the US, saying the earlier report was inaccurate, erased most of the losses. Yesterday, Wall Street ended higher, fueled by hopes that today’s talk could yield positive results.
